Skimmer safety reservoir — Tuya setup and float test

Pair the controller in Tuya Smart, then manually test the float to verify both notification and actual skimmer shut-off.

The controller must be paired with a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Do not leave the skimmer unattended until the float test and shut-off have both been validated.

Before you start

Pairing followed by a functional test.

After pairing, activate the float by hand and check both the notification and the skimmer shut-off.

Tuya Smart setup

Follow the steps in order.

Connect the power supply

Power the controller and wait a few seconds.

Enter pairing mode

The blue light must flash quickly. If not, hold the button for about 8 seconds.

Install Tuya Smart

Install the app on your phone before adding the device.

Add the device

Tap + and follow the wizard using your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi.

Test the float

Activate the float with your finger: you should receive a notification and the skimmer should switch off.

I do not receive a notification

Check that the controller is correctly added in Tuya Smart and that app notifications are allowed.

The skimmer does not switch off during the test

Repeat pairing and check that the skimmer is connected to the intended socket or controller.

  • Leaving the system in operation if the skimmer does not switch off.
