CP-Safe / CP-Plug — overflow sensor and skimmer safety

Understand the different CP-Plug, CP-Safe and complete kit versions, then install the float switch and configure the safety mode suited to a skimmer.

01

Before you start

Always test detection and shut-off.

!
This system improves safety but does not replace regular checks.

After installation, test the float switch, buzzer and actual skimmer shut-off.

No mobile app is required: CP-Safe is configured directly from its own Wi-Fi network and local interface.
02

Understand the 3 versions

Each version has a different role.

CP-Plug onlyStandalone delayed socket; does not read a float switch.
CP-Safe onlyController with float switch and buzzer; cannot shut off the skimmer by itself without CP-Plug.
Complete kitDetection, skimmer shut-off, buzzer, delay and notifications depending on configuration.
03

Physical float switch installation

Position the float before software settings.

1

Choose the position

Place the float where the maximum level should trigger the alarm, often in or near the collection cup.

2

Check movement

The float must move up and down freely without touching a wall or cable.

3

Check detection direction

If the alarm is reversed, flip the float on its shaft or change the signal setting.

4

Connect the sensor

Use only the intended CP-Safe input and do not force the connectors.

05

CP-Safe setup

For CP-Safe only or the complete kit.

1

Power on CP-Safe

Wait 20 to 30 seconds after power-up.

2

Connect to its Wi-Fi

From a phone or PC, select the CP-Safe network.

3

Open the interface

Go to http://192.168.4.1. The “no Internet access” message is normal.

4

Choose the safety mode

For a skimmer, use manual reset mode: the socket remains off until Reset alarm has been pressed.

06

Quick troubleshooting

Simple checks before contacting support.

The socket does not turn back on after the test

In manual reset mode this is normal: remove the cause of the alarm, then press Reset alarm.

The alarm is reversed

Flip the float or change the HIGH/LOW setting in the interface.

CP-Safe does not switch off the skimmer

Check that you are using the kit with CP-Plug and test the complete wiring.

07

Safety checklist

Before leaving the skimmer unattended.

Check

  • Float free and correctly oriented.
  • 192.168.4.1 interface accessible.
  • Manual reset mode configured for the skimmer.
  • Actual skimmer shut-off tested.

Avoid

  • Using CP-Safe alone while expecting it to switch the skimmer off directly.
  • Ignoring a reversed float orientation.
  • Putting the system back into service without a full test.
