The sensor uses 2 AAA batteries and a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Check that the float moves freely and that the test notification is received before creating an automation.
Before you start
Batteries, Wi-Fi and float movement.
The float must be able to move freely up and down before you create an automation.
Physical installation
Prepare the sensor before pairing.
Insert the batteries
Open the compartment and insert 2 AAA batteries, observing polarity.
Position the float
Install it at the level where the alert should trigger.
Check movement
The float must move freely up and down.
Choose the orientation
For a high-level alert, the float rises with the water; for a low-level alert, it may be inverted depending on the installation.
Download the app
Tuya Smart or Smart Life.
You can use Tuya Smart or Smart Life. The pairing procedure is similar; Tuya Smart is used as the reference in this guide.
Download the official app from your mobile app store.
Wi-Fi pairing
Pair the sensor with your 2.4 GHz network.
Open the app
Create an account or sign in.
Add a device
Tap +, then go to Sensors → Wi-Fi water leak detector.
Put the sensor in pairing mode
Hold the Reset button until the red LED flashes quickly.
Enter the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi details
Enter the network name and password. 5 GHz is not supported.
Wait for pairing to finish
When the app confirms that the device has been added, test the float immediately.
Test and automation
Complete this before everyday use.
Manual test
Raise or lower the float and check the notification on your phone.
Automation
In Tuya, you can link the sensor to a smart plug, valve or pump.
Maintenance
Replace the batteries when the app reports low battery and keep the float clean.
Quick troubleshooting
Simple checks before contacting support.
Pairing fails
Move the sensor closer to the router, check that the network is 2.4 GHz, and restart pairing mode.
I do not receive notifications
Check the app notification permissions and perform another float test.
Checklist before use
Quick validation.
Check
- Batteries inserted with correct polarity.
- Float moves freely.
- App installed.
- 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi used.
- Test notification received.
Avoid
- Pairing with a 5 GHz network.
- Creating an automation before testing the float.
- Blocking the cable or float.
